Science Curriculum Curriculum Intent Stag Lane children are Forever Learners: Achieving our dreams in an ever-changing world. Our aim is to provide all children with an engaging science curriculum. We introduce children to a range of significant (male and female) scientists of all genders, a range of ethnicities, both past and present, which, through representation, supports pupils to fulfil their potential as scientists. We are committed to teaching an ‘awe and wonder’ curriculum that develops children’s curiosity, whilst allowing children to analytically question the scientific world around them. As the children progress through our curriculum, they will be equipped with the scientific skills and knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future. Our teaching allows for children to be enquiry-based learners. Lessons are a fusion of knowledge and practical investigations, to encourage children to understand how science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave, and analyse causes. |
